Oregon House Passes Rent Control Bill

The Oregon House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 608 with a 35-25 vote today. The bill's passage makes Oregon the first in the nation with a statewide rent control policy. It caps annual rent increases to 7% plus inflation, with exemptions for affordable housing and buildings less than 15 years old. It also restricts no-cause evictions.
