Oregon Gov. Kate Brown Signs 90-Day Eviction Moratorium

Oregon Governor Kate Brown has signed a 90-day moratorium on evictions due to nonpayment of rent. Unlike the moratoriums in the City of Portland and Multnomah County, Governor Brown's order does not require tenants to prove that they have suffered loss of income due to COVID-19, nore does it provide a framework for potential repayment of overdue rent. The governor's order instead prohibits law enforcement officers from "serving, delivering or acting on any notice, order or writ of termination of tenancy or the equivalent or any judicial action....that relates to residential evictions for nonpayment."
