CNNMoney cited U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis statistics released in June, noting that Oregon has the third fastest-growing state economy behind North Dakota and Texas.

Meanwhile this week the State Employment Department reported that unemployment in Portland metro is down almost a full point from a year ago.  Almost every major industry has seen job growth, except government.

The private sector is growing at 3.2% -- the fastest growth since the summer of 2006.
